The Hook Use this workflow to automatically trigger and send an SMS message to a guest when their room is marked as Do Not Disturb (DND) or when a certain set of conditions are met.
Before you begin...
- ALICE Guest Messaging and ALICE Housekeeping must be configured at the hotel in order to use this functionality.
The Steps
- Access the ALICE Admin menu.
- Navigate to the Messaging menu and select Message Automation.
- Click Add Automation.
- Fill out the details accordingly and ensure Send When is set to Reservation - PMS Status + Room Status.
- Set the Housekeeping Status to DND.
- Leave the Room Status Automation checkbox disabled (this should NOT be enabled for DND and non-Room Status automations).
- Click Save to apply your changes.
The Result Success: The automation is set and the message will automatically trigger once the DND conditions are met.
Troubleshooting
- Note: Depending on your hotel’s specific housekeeping configuration, the "DND" status may have a different name or may not exist at all.
- Note: The Reservation - PMS Status + Room Status selection is strictly required for this automation to work.
