The Hook Use this workflow to adjust the Data Retention Period to adhere to local privacy regulations and maintain control over guests' Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
Prerequisites Before you begin:
• Requires Hotel Admin User Type access.
The Steps
1. Navigate to Alice Admin, select Security & Data Privacy from the menu, then select Data Retention Policy.
2. Select the checkbox to enable the Data Retention Policy.
3. Use the provided fields to set the desired time to retain information (Review the Data Retention Policy Reference for parameter limits).
4. Click Save to apply the changes.
The Result Success: Alice will automatically detect applicable reservations and anonymize the data at midnight (12 AM) in your property's time zone. A Data Retention icon will also become visible on the Guest Tab to indicate the policy is active.
Troubleshooting
• Note: The anonymization of guest data cannot be undone or retrieved once deleted.
• Note: While an opt-out option is available to disable the policy by deselecting the checkbox, we do not recommend disabling this feature.
