Link physical equipment to digital records using QR codes. This allows engineers to scan an asset on the mobile app to instantly view its history, details, and active tickets.
Before you begin...
• Enable: Hotel Admins must enable PM QR Codes in the Facility settings.
• Link/Scan: Requires Employee User Type with access to the Alice Staff App (Mobile) and camera permissions.
• Unlink: Can only be performed on Alice Desktop (Web).
Enabling QR Codes (Admin)
1. Navigate to Alice Admin and select the Preventative Maintenance Facility.
2. Select Edit under Inventories.
3. Check the box for Enable PM QR Codes.
4. Click Update.
Linking a Code (Mobile)
1. Open the Ticket List on the mobile app and search for the equipment ticket or item.
2. Tap the equipment name to access Equipment Details.
3. Tap Link Code to open the device camera.
4. Align the physical QR code within the frame to scan.
5. A banner will confirm the successful link.
Scanning a Code (Mobile)
1. Tap Scan in the bottom menu bar of the app.
2. Scan the QR code sticker on the asset.
3. The app will open the Inventory Item details and list any associated tickets.
Unlinking a Code (Web)
1. Navigate to the Logbooks tab and select the Inventory Item.
2. Locate the QR Code icon in the upper right corner.
3. Click the QR Code icon and select Unlink. The physical asset is now mapped to the digital record. Scanning the code pulls up the asset details immediately.
Troubleshooting
• QR codes must be unique for each asset.
• If you attempt to link a code already associated with another item, a failure message will appear.
